Taeko Ohnuki was born on November 28, 1953 in Suginami Ward, Tokyo. She is considered as one of influential figures in the world of “City Pop”. As an inventive and intriguing singer, She formed Sugar Babe along with Tatsuro Yamashita and Kunio Muramatsu. The Sugar Babe era didn’t last too long, due to the dominant music at that time was hard rock music. The group disbanded in 1976. Ohnuki continued her musical journey by releasing several solo albums such as Sunshower, Mignonne, and Grey Skies which carried the same sound as Sugar Babe.
